MADISON, N.J. (Oct. 14, 2015) – The Drew University women's soccer team fell in a tough defensive battle with The University of Scranton, 1-0 in Landmark Conference action at Ranger Stadium on Wednesday night.
 
The teams played to a standstill in the first half, with powerful defense performances offsetting themselves, resulting in a 0-0 halftime score.
 
Senior forward Emma Campbell tried a shot in the 67^th minute that hooked wide right and again in the 77^th that was saved by the goalie.
 
The Royals broke the ice in the 52^nd minute when from just inside the penalty box an attacker put on a high arching shot the hooked inside the far post for a goal. The Royals' first and only score would hold the rest of the way and the contest would end in 1-0 Drew loss.
 
Landmark Conference action rolls on as the Rangers host Goucher College on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 3:30 p.m.
