MADISON, N.J. (Oct. 14, 2015) – The Drew University women's soccer team fell in a tough defensive battle with The University of Scranton, 1-0 in Landmark Conference action at Ranger Stadium on Wednesday night.
The teams played to a standstill in the first half, with powerful defense performances offsetting themselves, resulting in a 0-0 halftime score.
Senior forward
Emma Campbell tried a shot in the 67
th minute that hooked wide right and again in the 77
th that was saved by the goalie.
The Royals broke the ice in the 52
nd minute when from just inside the penalty box an attacker put on a high arching shot the hooked inside the far post for a goal. The Royals' first and only score would hold the rest of the way and the contest would end in 1-0 Drew loss.
Landmark Conference action rolls on as the Rangers host Goucher College on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 3:30 p.m.
