MADISON, N.J. (March 25, 2015) – The Drew University men's lacrosse team exploded into a 10-0 run in the second period that took the Rangers to an 16-7 victory over Bard College on Wednesday night.
Freshman attacker
Harry Rice built upon his team-high 11 goals with four new ones that he ripped home through the raindrops at Ranger Stadium. Rice notched both the game's first goal and sparked the decisive 10-0 run.
"We've really been practicing hard and this win his been due for a while," Rice said. As long as we keep our heads down and keep rolling, we'll grab a few more W's."
Despite having scored 15 goals in his last five games, Rice denies feeling as though he is on a hot streak. "I'm just playing with my teammates and they're just doing a good job getting me the ball and as long as I can keep my head up and get them the ball, we're going to have some more success."
Ending the 10-0 run was sophomore attacker
Ben Ludeman with one of his three goals to bring the score to 13-3 halfway through the third period.
Sophomore midfielder and captain
Rich Shahpazian, after decking a Raptor with a tooth-rattling open field check, came down the other end and notched his second goal of the season.
Also contributing was senior midfielder
Robert Hart, who tied his season high with two goals on the day. Sophomore midfielder
Tom Cotroneo and sophomore defender
Michael Lloyd both pitched in goals in the victory.
Two Rangers saw their first career goals come in the contest. Freshman defender
