Ducks Fly By Rangers in Non-Conference Contest

HOBOKEN, N.J. (Sept. 30, 2015) – The Drew University women's soccer team (3-6-1) suffered a 4-0 setback under the lights Wednesday evening to in-state rival the Stevens Institute of Technology Ducks (6-2-1). The Ducks used a three-goal first half to hold off the surging Rangers' offense in the second half.

Tonight's contest marked the 15th meeting between the Rangers and Ducks all-time since the two teams met for the first time in 1993. With the victory, Stevens pushed their all-time series advantage to 12-3. Drew last defeated the Ducks in 2013 on the road to its Landmark Conference championship.

The Rangers offense was able to fire off 10 shots, putting eight on goal. Drew was also able to draw eight corner kicks in the defeat. Freshman midfielder Meghan McDermott led the Rangers taking three shots, while getting two on net.

Senior goalkeeper Sara Nash made her fifth start of the season in net for the Rangers. Nash played all 90 minutes for Drew in the loss, making a season-high seven saves and bringing her season total to 25.

Looking to regroup, the Rangers return to the pitch on Saturday, October 3rd as they travel to Selinsgrove, Pa. for a Landmark Conference clash with Susquehanna University.
