MADISON, N.J. (March 29, 2016) – The 2016 Battle for the Madison Cup featured a see-saw battle with four tie scores before FDU-Florham pulled away late for a 9-7 victory over the Drew University men's lacrosse team across the road on Tuesday night.

Ryan D'Alessandro and sophomore midfielder
Joe Palmieri each netted a pair of goals, while junior midfielder
Tom Cotroneo scored his sixth goal of the season in the rivalry game.
The Turning Point: Each team had a four-goal scoring run in the 2016 Battle of Madison Ave. Drew (1-7) scored the first four goals of the game and led 4-0 after one quarter. The Devils (2-5) scored four straight spanning halftime to tie the game at 5-5 with 4:41 to go in the third. Despite a pair of go-ahead goals by Palmieri and D'Alessandro, the latter of which came with 11:05 left in the fourth period, FDU-Florham netted three straight to end the game.

Michael Lloyd scored a man-up goal to open the scoring on Tuesday, and senior
Ben Ludeman added his fourth goal of the season during the 4-0 run to start the game.

Greg Swenson to make nine saves. The Rangers' transition game was strong on Tuesday with a 16-of-18 mark on clear attempts, but the Devils won two crucial battles in groundballs (31-24) and faceoffs (13-of-18).
