CENTER VALLEY, Pa. –
After a two-week holiday break, the Drew University men's basketball team returned to action on Friday night at DeSales University's Al Senavitis Memorial Tournament.  The Rangers (7-4) trailed by nine at halftime before erupting for 50 second-half points to notch a 68-61 victory over Alvernia (3-7) at Billera Hall.

Drew took an 11-9 lead on a Riley Collins (Lacey, N.J.) three-pointer at the 13:04 mark of the first half, but Alvernia countered with a 13-1 run to go up 22-12.  After the Rangers pulled back within six at 24-18, the Wolves scored the final three points of the half to take a 27-18 advantage into the locker room.

Nate Aldrich (Franklinville, N.J.) began the second half with a layup, as Drew rattled off 10 points in less than two minutes to pull in front, 28-27.  The Rangers' cushion reached seven points at 36-29 on a Darius Reiter (Littleton, Colo.) trey at the 15:14 mark, but Alvernia responded with a 5-0 rally to get back within two, 36-34.  After Drew pushed the margin back to six points at 44-38, the Wolves went on an 8-0 spurt to regain the lead, 46-44, with 7:26 remaining.

It was a 51-51 game when Yonathan Napoleon (Los Angeles, Calif.) hit a pair of foul shots to start a 10-3 Drew run that gave the Rangers a 61-54 advantage with 1:52 to go.  The Rangers then went 7-for-8 at the free throw line the rest of the way to seal a 68-61 victory, their fifth in the last six games.

Napoleon and Collins tallied 20 points apiece to lead the Rangers.  Napoleon added seven rebounds and six assists, while Collins notched five boards and four assists.  Aldrich finished with 10 points and six rebounds, and Dan Roibal (Middletown, N.J.) grabbed six boards, as Drew held a 46-39 edge on the glass.  After missing the Rangers' first 10 games due to injury, Malachi Walker (Fords, N.J.) made his debut on Friday night and registered six blocks to go along with six rebounds.  Drew shot 38.3 percent (23-of-60) from the field, 29.6 percent (8-of-27) from long range, and 60.9 percent (14-of-23) at the free throw line.

Alex Shippen led Alvernia with 18 points.  Calil Moultrie added 12 points, while Nick Youngkin had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.  Nik Henson, meanwhile, finished with eight points and nine boards.  The Wolves shot 34.8 percent (23-of-66) from the floor, 23.8 percent (5-of-21) from three-point land, and 71.4 percent (10-of-14) at the charity stripe.

The Rangers will take on host DeSales (9-1) in the championship game at 4 p.m. on Saturday.  It will be Drew's final non-conference contest of the season.
