Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Drew Improves to 2-0 With 5-1 Victory Over Hunter

MADISON, N.J. - On Saturday afternoon, the Drew University men's soccer team (2-0-0) completed a sweep of its season-opening weekend with a 5-1 victory over Hunter (0-2-0) at Ranger Stadium.  Andy Imoh (Sugar Land, Texas) scored twice and added an assist for the Rangers, who are off to a 2-0 start for the second time in three seasons.

Imoh got the scoring started in the 19th minute, when he took a feed from Nate Race (Bridgewater, N.J.), beat the keeper, and put it into the lower right corner.  Cristian Carbini (Long Valley, N.J.) then made it 2-0 with his first career tally, a blast from 25 yards out in the 34th minute.

A goal by Aidan Cserhat (Taos, N.M.) off an assist from Imoh increased Drew's lead to 3-0 early in the second half, and the two connected again in the 73rd minute.  This time the roles were reversed, as Cserhat found a streaking Imoh racing up the left side.  He put it past the keeper for his second goal of the contest and third of the season.  Cole Bosch (Fair Lawn, N.J.) then capped the scoring when he got his own rebound and converted in the 88th minute.

The Rangers outshot the Hawks 38-1 and held a 9-0 advantage in corner kicks.  Drew hasn't conceded a corner kick thru two games this season.  Goalkeeper Jason Adamo (Roxbury, N.J.) (2-0-0) earned his second win, while Hunter's Paul Tenfoung (0-2-0) made 11 saves in a losing effort.

Drew return to action on Wednesday with its annual matchup against local rival FDU-Florham (0-1).  The Rangers and Red Devils will square off at 7 p.m. at Robert T. Shields Field.
