Men's Soccer Blanks Conference Leader Moravian

MADISON, N.J. - Early offense powered the Drew University men's soccer team to a 4-0 victory over Landmark Conference leader Moravian College 4-0 Saturday afternoon at Ranger Stadium. Juniors Andy Imoh and Ian Sawicki notched one goal and one assist apiece to lead the Rangers (9-5, 3-1 LC), who handed Moravian (6-5-2, 3-1 LC) its first conference loss of the year.

The Difference: Drew needed less than 10 minutes of live-play to find the back of the net against the Greyhounds. A beautiful cross from the right wing by Imoh was headed home by sophomore Cristian Carbini. The half would end 1-0 but the Rangers would quickly pull away, courtesy of another header by Sawicki. Senior Anthony Mcmyne initiated the goal with a corner kick from the right.

Second Half Surge: The Rangers wouldn't stop after a two-goal lead. In the 62nd minute, Imoh would score his third goal of the season off a long pass from Sawicki. Then in the 78th minute, sophomore Derrick Lobo would notch his first collegiate goal, bouncing in a header off a cross from sophomore Nate Race.

Tight Defense: Drew's back row yielded just one shot on goal for the game which was saved by junior Jason Adamo, who earned his fifth shutout of the season.

Stat Sheet: The Rangers outshot the Greyhounds 21-10. Thirty-five fouls were whistled on the day: 19 for Drew and 16 for Moravian. The Greyhounds had the advantage in corner kicks by an 8-3 margin.

Up Next: The Rangers will travel to the University of Scranton on Wednesday for another Landmark Conference match starting at 7 p.m.
