SCRANTON, Pa. – The Drew University men's soccer team lost by a 3-0 count at the University of Scranton in a Landmark Conference tilt Wednesday evening. The Rangers fells to 9-5 and 3-2 in the Landmark while the Royals moved to 4-8 and 2-3 in conference play.
How it Happened: The Royals took command early, scoring twice in the opening 16 minutes. The two sides battled over the remainder of the half, with Scranton holding just a 6-5 edge in shots for the period. Drew came out pressing in the second half, when it ran up an 11-2 shot advantage. However, Scranton goalie Jake Hodlofski made six of his eight saves in the stanza, and the Royals set the final score in the 84th minute when Jon Roberts scored his second goal of the night.
Stats Sheet: Drew doubled up Scranton on shots (16-8) and finished with an 11-6 surplus in corner kicks. The Rangers committed one more foul (18-17) than the hosts. Junior
