MADISON, N.J. - Sophomore
Madison Dudziec tied a career-high with eight saves, but the Drew University women's soccer team lost a close 1-0 decision at Juniata College in a Landmark Conference (LC) match on Saturday. The Rangers fall to 6-7-3 and 0-4-2 in Landmark Conference play while the Eagles move to 5-9-1 on the year and 1-4-1 in the conference.
How it Happened: The Eagles struck early, scoring in the 15th minute on a tally from Meadow Walshaw-Wertz. The Rangers put together several offensive drives throughout the game and attempted six shots in the second half; however, that's when Kristin Racis made three of her four saves for the Eagles. Dudziec, who also had eight saves in a 2-1 loss at William Paterson last season, kept Drew within striking distance by turning aside five shots in the second stanza.
Stat Sheet: Juniata finished with advantages in shots (14-10) and corner kicks (5-3). The Eagles were called for seven fouls and Drew was whistled eight times.
Up Next: The Rangers will visit cross-town rival FDU-Florham on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Battle of Madison Avenue.
