Men's Soccer Cruises in ECAC Opener

MADISON, N.J. - Six different Rangers figured into the scoring column and the Drew University men's soccer team cruised to a 7-0 victory over College of New Rochelle in the first round of the ECAC Division III Tournament on Saturday at a blustery Ranger Stadium.

How it Happened: Drew (12-6) took control early with a five-goal first half. The Rangers scored twice over a three-minute span on tallies from sophomore Nate Race and senior Alexi Velazquez midway through the half before juniors Andy Imoh and Aidan Cserhat converted just over a minute apart late in the period. Imoh struck again in the 42nd minute to stake the Rangers to their 5-0 halftime advantage. Sophomore Cole Bosch and freshman Sean Sousa set the final verdict with one goal each in the second half, with Sousa netting his first collegiate goal.

Top Performers: Imoh notched his first multi-goal game of the year. Bosch and Race each notched one goal and one assist while sophomore Tony Oliveira handed out a pair of assists.

Stat Sheet: Drew outshot the Blue Angels 32-7 en route to the team's second seven-goal outing in its last four games. A total of just 10 fouls were called (seven on Drew, three on New Rochelle) and no cards were issued. Three different goalies played for the Rangers, including senior Stephan Lukianov, who started and made one save in the opening half. Freshman Calum Erlenborn also played 30 minutes while sophomore Jake Marlowe made one stop over 15 minutes of action.

Next Up: The Rangers move on to the ECAC quarterfinals and will host the winner of the first-round match-up between Grove City College and Wilkes University on Sunday at noon.
