MADISON, N.J. – On Wednesday night, the Drew University men's lacrosse team took on Scranton at Ranger Stadium.  In Drew Head Coach Doug Sage's first game against his former team, the Rangers (3-10, 0-4 Landmark) dropped a 10-6 decision to the Royals (9-5, 3-2 Landmark).

Scranton got on the board less than 90 seconds into the contest, but the Rangers struck back on Kevin Goettlich's (Florham Park, N.J.) tally at the 9:22 mark of the first quarter.  The Royals scored five of the next six goals, though, to open up a 6-2 halftime lead.

After Jack Crowley (Madison, N.J.) notched a man-up goal early in the third quarter, Scranton rattled off three straight scores to increase its lead to 9-3 entering the final period.  Seamus O'Connor (Portsmouth, R.I.) found the back of the net twice in the first five minutes of the fourth quarter to pull the Rangers within 9-5, but Scranton held on for a 10-6 victory.

O'Connor scored two goals and added an assist for the Rangers.  Ryan D'Alessandro (Glen Ridge, N.J.) also had a two-point game, finishing with a goal and an assist.  Joe Palmieri (Guilford, Conn.) picked up a team-high five ground balls, while Jonny Bronander (Glen Ridge, N.J.) collected three ground balls to go along with two caused turnovers.  In addition to securing four ground balls, goalkeeper Mike McGeeney (Annapolis, Md.) (0-2) made 11 saves.

For Scranton, Connor Kirkwood led the way with three goals.  Tim Dolan finished with two goals and an assist, while Quinn Killeen recorded a goal and two assists to go along with four ground balls.  Conor Carey also corralled four ground balls, and he added three assists for the Royals.  Adam Maiale picked up four ground balls, as well, as Scranton held a 31-24 edge in that department.  Jeff Sabatini (9-3) registered 10 saves in net.
