MADISON, N.J. –
On Saturday afternoon, the Drew University men's lacrosse team concluded a three-game homestand by welcoming Elizabethtown to Ranger Stadium.  In a tightly-contested showdown, the Rangers (3-8, 0-2 Landmark) dropped a 7-5 decision to the Blue Jays (5-6, 2-1 Landmark).

Elizabethtown scored just seven seconds into the game before Drew tied it on Kyle MacDonnell's (Niantic, Conn.) goal three minutes later.  The Blue Jays added a pair to go up 3-1, but Jack Crowley (Madison, N.J.) found the back of the net just before the first quarter buzzer sounded, cutting the Rangers' deficit to 3-2.  Elizabethtown held a 5-3 edge at halftime.

After the Blue Jays extended their cushion to 6-3 early in the third quarter, Kevin Goettlich (Florham Park, N.J.) found the back of the net to bring the Rangers within two entering the final period.  It remained 6-4 until the 4:26 mark of the fourth quarter, when Drew cut its deficit to one on MacDonnell's unassisted goal.  However, Mike DiGenova gave Elizabethtown an insurance tally just over a minute later, and the Blue Jays notched a 7-5 victory.

MacDonnell recorded three of the Rangers' five goals, with Crowley and Goettlich accounting for the other two tallies.  Jonny Bronander (Glen Ridge, N.J.) picked up seven ground balls and caused six turnovers, while Ryan D'Alessandro (Glen Ridge, N.J.) was credited with five ground balls.  Nate Sanders (Annapolis, Md.) (3-8) made nine saves in goal.

Scott Nizolak and Mike Scrafano both scored twice for the Blue Jays.  DiGenova had a goal and three assists to go along with three ground balls, while Brandon Sankey finished with one goal and two assists.  Kyle Pienek, meanwhile, picked up five ground balls.  Tom Mahoney (3-3) tallied 11 saves.

The Rangers hit the road for the only time in a six-game stretch next Saturday, when they visit Moravian (4-5, 0-2 Landmark) at 1 p.m.
