TOWSON, Md. – Sophomore
Sarah Racine scored in the first half and the Drew University women's soccer team played to a 1-1 tie in its Landmark Conference (LC) opener at Goucher College Saturday afternoon.
Early, Late Goals: Racine struck in the 17th minute and has now scored in her last three games and five of her last six contests. The Rangers (5-1-2, 0-0-1 LC) carried a 1-0 lead into the 85th minute, but that's when Goucher's Gracie LeFevre netted what held up as the game-tying goal.
Bonus Soccer: Drew controlled possession during regulation, outshooting Goucher 13-7. But Goucher (2-3-2, 0-0-1 LC) held a 4-3 shot advantage over the two overtime periods. However, sophomore goalie
Madison Dudziec registered three saves in OT.
Between the Pipes: Dudziec finished with a season-high seven saves for Drew. Christina Charikofsk stopped eight shots for Goucher.
Stats Sheet: For the game, the Rangers outshot the Gophers 16-11 while Goucher held a 4-3 edge in corner kicks. Drew was guilty of 14 fouls while the hosts were whistled seven times.
