Women's Soccer Topped by Stevens

HOBOKEN, N.J. – Stevens Institute scored a goal in each half and the Ducks handed the Drew University women's soccer team a 2-0 setback in a non-conference match Wednesday evening.

Turning Point: Stevens (5-2) broke open a scoreless tie in the 28th minute, when Zisi Komar finished off a cross to give the Ducks all the scoring they would need. The hosts would add an insurance tally in the 76th minute, as floated a shot from outside the box to set the final score.

Early Opportunities: The Rangers (5-2-2) attempted both of their shots on goal in the first half, including an attempt from sophomore Leah Dentale in the 13th minute and a header from junior Alexa Simon in the 37th minute, but were unable to dent Stevens keeper Izzy DiDario.

Stats Sheet: The Ducks ended the night with advantages in both shots (17-3) and corner kicks (11-1) while both sides were whistled for eight fouls. Sophomore Madison Dudziec made six saves for Drew.

Next Up: The Rangers return to Landmark Conference play on Saturday, when they host Catholic University at 4 p.m.
