PURCHASE, N.Y. - Sophomore
Sarah Racine scored in the 87th minute to give the Drew University women's soccer team (2-1) a 1-0 non-conference win at Manhattanville College (0-2) Wednesday afternoon.
Turning Point - Though the Rangers dominated the game once again from a possession standpoint, the score was gridlocked at 0-0 for most of regulation. However, Drew finally broke the stalemate when Racine rocketed a shot off the goal post, tracked down the ball and found the back of the net from 20 yards out.
Top Performers - Racine's goal was the eighth of her young career as a Ranger and her fifth game-winner. Sophomore keeper
Madison Dudziec gathered three saves while playing all 90 minutes in the net to collect her second career shutout.
Stat Sheet - The Rangers were able to fire off 15 shots to Manhattanville's four and have now outshot their opponents 58-18 for the season. Drew was awarded 10 corner kicks, six more than their opponent.
Up Next - The Rangers look to add to their winning streak when they face the Coast Guard Academy in their first contest of the Drew University Fall Festival on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
