Mackenzie Garcia Hynds and junior
Mal Vishwanath won two individual events apiece to lead the Drew University women's swimming team to a 141-58 win at Landmark Conference opponent Goucher College on Saturday.
Drew (3-4), swimming for the first time since Dec. 1, won 10 of 11 events versus the Gophers. Garcia Hynds prevailed in both the 50-freestyle (26.16) and the 500-freestyle (5:31.12) while Vishwanath touched first in both the 400-IM (4:44.89) and the 200-butterfly (2:13.13).
Capturing one individual victory each were sophomore
Audrey Keliehor in the 1,000-freestyle (11:44.55), junior
Katie Jefferson in the 200-freestyle (2:05.65), freshman
Abby Shapiro in the 200-backstroke (2:19.68), and junior
Stephanie Cushman in the 200-breaststroke (2:14.15).
The Rangers also swept the relays. The 400-medley squad of Cushman, junior
Kate Circus, freshman
Cora Striet, and Shapiro finished in 4:24.15 while the 400-freestyle team of Vishwanath, Striet, sophomore
Eve Morel, and senior
Megan Cashin were clocked at 4:01.18.
Drew continues its season next Saturday, when it hosts Ramapo College at 1 p.m. in its final meet of the season prior to the Landmark Conference Championships.
