Quick Starts Sends Arcadia Past Men’s Lax

GLENSIDE, Pa. – Arcadia University outscored Drew 8-1 in the first quarter and 13-3 in the opening half and the Knights handed the Rangers an 18-9 setback in non-conference men's lacrosse action Tuesday afternoon.
 
By the Numbers
The Rangers slipped to 0-4 on the season while Arcadia improved to 3-3.
 
Highlights
• Senior Brandon Hamm put Drew on the scoreboard, scoring with 5:56 left in the opening quarter to snap a 5-0 Knight run to open the game.
• Juniors Jack Fatone and Kyle MacDonnell each struck in the second quarter before classmate Kevin Goettlich and senior Thomas Garner each tallied in the third period, but Arcadia led 16-5 heading into the final stanza.
• Drew would outscore the Knights 4-2 over the last 15 minutes. MacDonnell cashed in twice while Goettlich and junior Seamus O'Connor also found the back of the net.
 
Top Performers
• Goettlich finished the day with two goals and three assists while MacDonnell tossed in three goals.
• Freshman defenseman Jack Tynan picked up six ground balls.
• Junior Nate Sanders made 10 saves over the opening three quarters before sophomore Mike McGeeney stopped a pair of shots in the final period.
 
Stat Sheet
Arcadia finished with advantages in shots, ground balls, and face-offs. The Rangers received just one penalty while the Knights were whistled seven times for 6:30.
