Quick Start Lifts Scranton Over Men’s Lacrosse

SCRANTON, Pa. – The University of Scranton jumped to an 8-0 halftime lead and the host Royals defeated the Drew University men's lacrosse team 14-5 in a Landmark Conference match-up Wednesday evening.
 
Highlights
• The Rangers came out swinging in the second half, outscoring Scranton 3-0 in the third quarter. Junior Seamus O'Connor, senior Brandan Hamm, and junior Kyle MacDonnell all found paydirt to make it an 8-3 game heading into the final 15 minutes.
• The Royals settled any doubt with a 5-0 run over the opening 11 minutes of the final period.
• Drew scored two the game's final three goals, with O'Connor and freshman Nicholas D'Eufemia striking once apiece.
 
Top Performers
• O'Connor finished with two goals and one assist.
• Freshman defenseman Jack Tynan notched four ground balls and three caused turnovers.
• Senior defenseman Jack Connors contributed three caused turnovers and two ground balls.
• Junior Nate Sanders made 15 saves for the Rangers.
 
Next Up
