SCRANTON, Pa. - The Drew University men's swimming & diving team won on the final event of the night to capture a thrilling 132-129 victory at Landmark Conference foe Scranton on Friday evening.
With the Rangers trailing 123-121, the 400-freestyle relay team of freshman
Jeffrey Crouse, sophomore
Josh Roberts, sophomore
Jake Zajdzinski, and senior
Jack Mahoney won a tight race with a time of 3:16.19 to clinch the meet.

Henry Van Note won two individual events apiece for Drew (4-1), which toppled a Scranton team that entered the night with a 6-2 record. The Rangers were competing for the first time since they won the Ranger Invitational back on Dec. 6-7.
The meet was originally scheduled for Saturday but was moved up one day due to impending inclement weather.
Drew won three of the first four events, including 1-2 finishes in both the 1,000- and 200-freestyle. Van Note prevailed in the 1,000 in 10:28.15, just edging out junior
Alexandre Sannibale (10:29.08). In the next event, freshman
Harrison Neal touched first in the 200, with Crouse taking second in 1:48.97. Junior
Matheus Macena made it three in a row when he won the 100-backstroke in 53.91.
Midway through the meet, Mahoney earned a pair of victories, capturing the 50-freestyle (22.14) and 100-freestyle (49.41). Senior
Michael Ma narrowly missed picking up a win in two events, taking second in both the 100-butterfly and 200-IM. He finished less than two-tenths of a second off the winning time in both events, including just a hundredth of a second in the 2-IM.
Van Note closed out his big night with a win in the 500-freestyle, clocking a 5:03.45, while Crouse was second in 5:07.15.
Drew competes in its final home meet of the season on Saturday, Jan. 25, when it takes on Goucher, another Landmark opponent, starting at 1 p.m. on Senior Day.
