Box Score 2 NAPLES, Fla. - The Drew University softball team closed out its Spring Break trip to Florida with a split on Friday.
The Rangers (6-6) cruised to an 18-2, five-inning victory over Lehman (0-3) in the morning before dropping a tight 1-0 decision to North Central (3-1) in the afternoon.
Drew continued to swing a hot bat and smoked 15 hits versus Lehman. Their 18 runs marked the team's fifth double-digit output of the trip and their fourth in a row. The Rangers batted a red-hot .426 over their 10 games in the Sunshine State.
Freshman
Julia VanLiew went 3-for-5 with a pair of runs scored while juniors
Adriana Rodriguez and
Jasmine Vera scored three runs apiece. Freshman

ulia Sinatra drove in three runs apiece.
In the circle, sophomore
Emilee Marshall (4-0) tossed a complete game three-hitter to remain perfect on the season. She struck out five and walked only two.
The Rangers' second game was a pitcher's duel between freshman
Bailey Comeau and North Central's Gianna Corbin. It was a scoreless game over the opening three innings until the Cardinals pushed across an unearned run in the top of the fourth.
Drew out-hit North Central 6-5 and had several scoring chances, including the second inning when they put rut runners on second and third. Sophomore
Paxtan Perry drew a one-out walk before Vera followed up with a single. The two runners moved up on a wild pitch with two outs, but Corbin escaped with a flyout. Corbin also stranded a runner on second in the fourth, sixth, and seventh innings.
Sophomore
Renata Primmer went 2-for-4 versus the Cardinals. Comeau hurled a five-hit complete game, striking out three and walking only one.
The Rangers are back in action on Tuesday, when they host Stevens in their home opener starting at 3 p.m.
