Haverford Gets by Men's Soccer

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Drew University men's soccer team lost by a final of 3-1 in a non-conference match-up on Tuesday at Haverford College.

The Fords (6-6-1) broke open a scoreless match in the 31st minute and led 1-0 at the half.

Haverford doubled its lead in the 66th minute, but the Rangers answered nine minutes later, when freshman Kevin Kiernan scored off an assist from sophomore Matthew Agudelo. Kiernan finished off a cross by drilling a shot inside the left post for his team-leading fifth goal of the season, making it a 2-1 game.

Drew (4-7-1) had a pair of chances to tie it down the stretch. But a shot from sophomore Christian Tyson was saved in the 77th minute, and the Rangers were unable to get off a shot on a corner kick two minutes later. Haverford then punched in an insurance tally in the 79th minute.

Senior Calum Erlenborn made a pair of saves for Drew while facing a 12-shot attack.

The Rangers return to Landmark Conference play on Saturday, when they host Goucher College at 4 p.m. on Senior Day.
