Women's Volleyball Rallies Past Baruch

NEW YORK - The Drew University women's volleyball team won the final three sets to post a 3-1 non-conference victory at Baruch College Tuesday evening.

The Rangers (14-5) fell behind 1-0 after dropping the opening set 25-18, but tied the match with a 25-23 set 2 victory. Then perhaps in the turning point of the night, Drew rallied from a 21-16 deficit to eventually win the third set 29-27 before clinching the match with a 25-22 third-set victory.

Freshman Andrea Camacho-Tenreiro turned in a big night for the Rangers, throwing down a season-high 28 kills while scooping 15 digs. Classmate Ashley Carkhuff fired up 15 kills to go with 12 digs while sophomore Melina Christodoulou totaled four blocks. Freshman Jasmine Butler passed out 27 assists while first-year Shelby Weeden notched a double-double of 16 assists and 14 digs. Freshmen Lauren Gaza and Kiara Vasquez contributed with 28 and 17 digs, respectively.

The Rangers return home on Thursday, when they face Stockton University in a non-conference match starting at 7 p.m.
