YORK, Pa. - The Drew University women's volleyball team split a tri-match at York (Pa.) College on Saturday afternoon.
The Rangers, who improved to 16-6 in their inaugural season, opened the day with a 3-0 sweep (25-19, 25-18, 25-19) over Neumann University before falling to York 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-21).
Versus Neumann, freshman
Andrea Camacho-Tenreiro led the way with 14 kills, 19 digs, and three service aces. Sophomore
Melina Christodoulou added seven kills and four blocks (two solo) while freshman
Shelby Weeden dished out 17 assists. First-year
Lauren Gaza scooped 16 digs.
Camacho-Tenreiro led the way again versus York with another double-double, notching 14 kills and 13 digs. Freshman
Ashley Carkhuff led the team with 15 digs while Weeden and freshman
Jasmine Butler handed out 14 and 11 assists, respectively. Gaza added another 11 digs.
The Rangers continue their season on Wednesday, when they visit Moravian College at 7 p.m. in a Landmark Conference match-up.
