MADISON, N.J. - The Drew University women's volleyball team used a balanced effort to capture a 3-0 victory over John Jay College in a non-conference match Friday evening in Baldwin Gym.
The Rangers (13-5) won by scores of 25-12, 25-12, and 25-20.
Nine different players recorded at least one kill for Drew while 12 Rangers saw playing time.
The Blue and Green served up 13 aces, marking the team's third-highest total of the season.
Freshman

In the opening set, the Rangers broke open a close match with a big 9-0 run, as a 15-9 lead ballooned into a 24-9 advantage. Carkhuff served on the final eight points of the decisive stretch, when she zipped in a pair of aces.
Drew used another late run to pull away in the second set. Leading 15-11, the Rangers reeled off seven straight points, with Camacho-Tenreiro serving on the final six.
The Bloodhounds (5-8) reversed the trend in the third set, using a late 5-1 spurt to cut an eight-point deficit in half at 24-20. But it was too little too late as senior
Murielle Mason clinched the match with a kill.
Drew continues its season on Tuesday, when it visits Baruch College at 7 p.m. in a non-conference affair.
