TOWSON, Md. - Four Rangers scored in double figures and the Drew University men's basketball team captured its Landmark Conference opener with an 81-56 victory at Goucher College Saturday afternoon.
The Rangers (3-4, 1-0 LC) were in command from start to finish and trailed just once while opening the game on a 23-8 run.

Lybrant Robinson led all scorers with 17 points while junior forward
Howard McBurnie, Jr. logged his sixth double-double of the season with 14 points and a season-high 14 rebounds. Senior guard
Miles Lewis notched 11 points, six rebounds, and four assists while sophomore guards
Malcolm Newman and
James Anderson chipped in with 10 points apiece.
John Dixon paced the Gophers (2-5, 0-1 LC) with 14 points.
Six different Rangers scored during Drew's game-opening run, with Robinson netting seven during the stretch. The lead hit 17 (27-10) on a jumper from Newman with 9:45 on the clock, but Goucher rallied with an 8-0 to get back to within single digits. Robinson knocked down a pair of free throws with two seconds left in the half to make it a 34-24 game at the intermission.
Drew quickly doubled its lead in the second half when it opened the period with a 14-4 surge. McBurnie poured in eight points during the run, including a pair of 3-pointers.
Goucher whittled the deficit to 13 with 12:07 left but the Rangers answered with a decisive 18-2 run to put the game away. The Rangers drained four 3-pointers during the outburst, with Newman capping the run with back-to-back treys. Anderson scored seven points early in the spurt
Fifteen different players saw the court for Drew while 11 Rangers found the scoring column.
Drew returns to action on Wednesday, when it visits Haverford College at 8 p.m. in a non-conference match-up.
