MADISON, N.J. - The Drew University women's volleyball team collected two more wins on Saturday, sweeping both of their opponents 3-0 in a non-conference tri-match Saturday afternoon in Baldwin Gym.
The Rangers (6-1) opened the day with a 25-17, 25-17, 25-14 win over Mount Saint Vincent before posting a 25-14, 25-12, 25-16 victory over Wilkes.
Drew has now won four matches in a row. For the season, five of the team's six victories have been sweeps.
Versus Mount Saint Vincent, freshman
Andrea Camacho Tenreiro led the Rangers with 14 kills, nine digs, and three service aces. Freshman
Ashley Carkhufff just missed a double-double with nine kills and 17 digs. First-year
Shelby Weeden handed out 17 assists
Against Wilkes, Camacho Tenreiro led the Rangers offensively once again with 16 kills while also piling up nine digs and four service aces. Sophomore
Melina Christodoulou contributed nine kills on just 11 attempts for an incredible .818 hitting performance, and she also added five blocks (two solo). Freshman
Jasmine Butler dished out 23 assists while classmate
Lauren Gaza registered 18 digs and four aces.
The Rangers return home on Tuesday, when they face Keystone College at 7 p.m. in a non-conference match.
