Rangers Top Cedar Crest for Seventh Straight Win

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The Drew University women's volleyball team won its seventh match in a row with a 3-1 non-conference victory at Cedar Crest on Tuesday evening.

After the Falcons claimed the opening set 25-18, the Rangers stormed back to win the next three, 25-22, 25-18, and 26-24.

Drew, playing in its inaugural season, has now captured nine of its first 10 matches in team history.

Freshman Andrea Camacho-Tenreiro registered another big night for the Rangers, throwing down a season-high 25 kills - none bigger than her final hit of the night that put her team up 25-24 in the fourth set. She also scooped 17 digs for her fourth double-double of the year.

Sophomore Melina Christodoulou contributed 15 kills and a pair of blocks while freshman Shelby Weeden distributed a season-high 39 assists to go with 12 digs for her fourth double-double this year. Freshman Kiara Vasquez contributed a season-best 25 digs, and classmate Ashley Carkhuff registered 10 digs.

The Rangers are back in action on Thursday, when they visit Rutgers-Camden at 7 p.m. in another non-conference outing.
