WASHINGTON, DC – The Drew University women's volleyball opened Landmark Conference (LC) play on Saturday at Catholic University.
The Rangers opened with a 3-1 loss to Catholic (27-25, 25-22, 16-25, 25-18), then dropped a 3-0 decision to fourth-ranked Juniata (25-13, 25-19, 25-11).
Against Catholic (9-8, 1-0), sophomore
Andrea Camacho-Tenreiro paced the Rangers (9-7, 0-2 LC) with 12 kills, 24 digs, and four service aces. Junior
Leila Ksiyer added 11 kills and five aces while sophomore
Jasmine Butler posted 28 assists and 12 digs. Sophomore
Lauren Gaza contributed 34 digs for Drew.
Versus the Eagles (13-1, 2-0 LC) , Camacho-Tenreiro led the way once again, this time with six kills and 11 digs. Butler contributed 15 assists and nine digs. Gaza registered 19 digs and four aces while sophomore
Kiara Vasquez pumped out 14 digs. Reigning Landmark Conference Women's Volleyball Athlete of the Week
Melina Christodoulou threw down four blocks (two solo).
The Rangers are back in Landmark Conference action on Wednesday, when they host the University of Scranton at 7 p.m.
