Myles Cherry each shot a 149 to lead the Drew University men's golf "B" team at The Melee, held Saturday and Sunday at Riverview Country Club.
The Rangers turned in a strong performance on Sunday, shooting a 300 after opening with a 329 to finish with a 36-hole score of 629. They finished seventh among 11 teams, placing in front of Albright (631), Stevens "B" (639), Cabrini (651), and New Jersey City (662).
Swarthmore captured the team title with a 591 while Moravian's Jake Haberstumpf claimed medalist honors with a 142.
Bhaskar and Cherry each posted their best performance in the second round. After opening with a 79, Bhaskar birdied four holes and parred 11 others on Sunday to break par with a 1-under 70, just one stroke shy of the school record. Cherry, who shot a 78 on Saturday, came back with a career-best 71 in the second round, which included three birdies and 13 pars. The pair tied for ninth among 58 competitors.
Freshman
Austin Chilles was Drew's next finisher, tying 39th with a 161 (83-78) in his collegiate debut. Classmate
Max Conklin completed the team score with a 170 (89-81) while junior
Ryan Firman also competed, finishing with a 173 (90-83).
The Rangers conclude their fall season on Friday and Saturday at the Landmark Conference Fall Preview, held at Susquehanna Valley Country Club in Selinsgrove, Pa.
