Alexa Krause and junior
Jessie Brannick scored two goals apiece as the Drew University women's soccer team rolled to a 4-0 non-conference victory at Delaware Valley University Tuesday evening.
The Rangers pushed their record to 9-4-2 with the victory, marking the team's best start through 15 matches since the 2013 squad was 13-2.
Krause cashed in twice in the opening half, when the Rangers outshot the Aggies 14-5. She scored an unassisted tally in the 20th minute, then finished off a pass from sophomore
Isabella Grof-Tisza, who picked up her team-leading seventh assist of the season. Krause has now scored a Landmark Conference-leading 14 goals on the year, a mark that also places her in a tie for ninth in team history.
Brannick sealed the deal for the Drew, scoring twice in less than two minutes midway through the second half. She converted a pass from senior
Sam Kievit in the 69th minute before striking again off passes from Kievit and senior
Emma Shatel in the 71st minute to set the final score
The Rangers outshot the Aggies 10-2 in the second half and 24-7 overall. Drew did not concede a corner kick on the night.
Senior
Anthi Panayides and sophomore
Amina Cirkiel combined on the shutout for the Rangers. Panayides started and made a pair of saves before Cirkiel stopped one shot in the second half.
Olivia Sherwood made seven saves for Del Val (6-9-1).
The Rangers return to Landmark Conference action on Saturday, when they visit Juniata College at 4 p.m.
