It was a close match midway through the opening set before the Rangers scored five straight points to open up an 18-12 lead. The Gators rallied, however, and trailed just 23-21 before Ortega-Reyes and Sledz posted back-to-back kills to end the set.
The Rangers got out to a 13-8 lead in the second set, then played RSC even the rest of the way to go up 2-0. Drew seemed to be on its way to a sweep early in the third set, leading 11-7 before the Gators rallied with a 7-3 surge to pull even. The Rangers twice were serving for match point late in the set, but RSC rallied with a 5-1 run to end the period.
Drew never trailed in the fourth set, when they used a 6-0 run to take a commanding 11-4 lead early on. The Gators were unable to get closer than four the rest of the way.
