BRONX, N.Y. - The Drew University men's volleyball team enjoyed a perfect day at Lehman College on Saturday, sweeping both of its opponents 3-0.
The Rangers (6-9) opened with a 25-16, 25-20, 25-18 win over Lehman in the morning before posting a 25-17, 25-15, 25-14 triumph over Neumann University.
Freshman
Jacob Sledz registered a pair of stellar showings to lead Drew on the afternoon and notched 12 kills and eight digs versus Lehman. But his top performance came versus Neumann, when he threw down 16 kills on 29 attempts for a .414 hitting percentage while also recording 15 digs and five service aces.
Against Lehman, sophomore
Omarf Ortega-Reyes also had a big match, posting 10 kills and nine digs, while freshman
Ephraim Smith tallied nine kills. Freshman
Huriel Perez handed out 20 assists, and sophomore
David Hoyt contributed eight digs.
Ortega-Reyes followed up with 10 kills and 12 digs versus Neumann. Smith registered seven kills while freshman
C.J. Addeo was close behind with six as the Rangers hit .311 as a team. Perez handed out another 31 assists.
Drew returns to action on Wednesday, when they visit New Jersey City University at 7 p.m.\
