MADISON, N.J. - The Drew University men's volleyball team continued to stay hot with a 3-0 sweep over Purchase in Baldwin Gym Friday evening.
The Rangers (7-10), who have now captured four of their last five matches, won by scores of 25-12, 25-18, and 25-9.
Drew was led by the tandem of sophomore
Omarf Ortega-Reyes and freshman
Jacob Sledz. Ortega-Reyes totaled 14 kills and six digs while hitting .407 on the night. Sledz turned in a nearly flawless hitting performance, throwing down 13 kills on 17 attempts while making just two errors, good for a stellar .647 hitting percentage. He also posted eight digs.
Freshman
Ephraim Smith contributed seven kills for the Rangers while classmate
Huriel Perez passed out 32 assists and served up two aces.
Joe Higgins posted 10 kills to lead the Panthers (2-8).
The Rangers are back in action on Thursday, when they travel to New York City to take on Hunter at 6 p.m.
