MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University women's swimming & diving team won eight events, but Catholic University edged the Rangers 148.5-142.5 in the season opener for Drew on Saturday in F.M. Kirby Pool.

Katerina Poulathas led the Rangers with three victories versus the defending Landmark Conference champions, capturing the 1,000-freestyle (10:54.65), the 200-butterfly (2:20.90), and the 500-freestyle (5:24.40).
Junior
Sam Trodick was also a multi-event winner for Drew, touching the wall first in the 200-breaststroke (2:32.70) and the 200-IM (2:16.91).
The Rangers took home three additional victories courtesy of senior
Emma Boggs in the 3-meter diving (146.55), senior
Amira Hadri in the 100-butterfly (1:04.03), and freshman
Ana McDonald in the 1-meter diving (165.15).
Drew also registered eight runner-up finishes: Hadri in the 50-freestyle (25.34) and the 100-freestyle (56.67), senior
Charlotte Wells in the 100-backstroke (1:00.90) and the 200-backstroke (2:18.05), Boggs in the 1-meter diving (157.35), McDonald in the 3-meter diving (109.15), junior
Emilie Tobin in the 200-freestyle (2:07.70), and Trodick in the 100-breaststroke (1:10.79).
Drew continues its season next Saturday, when it hosts Montclair State University at 1 p.m.
