KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Drew University men's golf "B" team placed third among five teams on Wednesday at The Melee, held at Berkleigh Golf Club in Pennsylvania.
 
The Rangers shot a 315 and placed behind Stevens (292), and Stevens "B" (309). Drew placed in front of Albright "B" (317) and Eastern (322).
 
Senior Matvey Pangan posted the top performance for the Rangers, firing a career-low 76 to tie for eighth in the field of 30. He fired three consecutive birdies on the back-9, where he shot a 36.
 
Freshman Eric Castner was one stroke back, tying for 11th with a 77, while senior Myles Cherry was tied for 13th with a 78. Cherry fired a 35 on the front-9 on the strength of three straight birdies.
 
Sophomore Max Conklin and freshman Ryan Ricci each shot an 84 and tied for 24th.
 
The Rangers wrap up their fall season this weekend, when they compete at the Landmark Conference Fall Preview, held at Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort in Shawnee on Delaware, Pennsylvania, on Saturday and Sunday.
