WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Drew University men's golf team opened the spring portion of its schedule in style, winning both the individual and team titles at The Ruckus on Saturday and Sunday at Williamsburg National Golf Club.
Senior
Elliot Parker rallied from four strokes back after the opening round to win by a single stroke over Gunner Redmond of Penn College, shooting a 4-under-par 140 (74-66). He led the Rangers to a six-stroke victory, with Drew shooting a 588 (289-299) to beat out 10 other teams, including runner-up Salisbury University. Parker fired three birdies in the first round on Saturday before carding six birdies and an eagle on Sunday en route to his third victory of the season and the 16th of his career.
Junior
Avery Cohen was Drew's second finisher, tying for fifth in the field of 59 with a 144 (72-72). He finished the tournament with seven birdies and one eagle. Sophomore
Sam Dolan tied for 12th with a 148 (70-78), posting six birdies in the opening round, while senior
Ryan Ricci completed the team scoring with a 150 (76-74), tying for 16th. He birdied eight holes for the weekend.
Senior
Shiv Bhaskar rounded out the team scoring with a 156 (77-79), shooting four birdies along the way.
The Rangers are back in action on April 3-4 at The Spring Thaw, held at Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort at Shawnee on Delaware, Pa.
