DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. – Sophomore Elliot Parker fired a 1-under 70 on Monday to lead the Drew University men's golf team in the opening round of the West Pines Intercollegiate, hosted by Oglethorpe University at the West Pines Golf Club in Georgia.
 
Parker is currently tied for sixth place among 96 competitors and sits just three strokes out of the lead, which is currently shared by Oglethorpe's Beck Lewis and Sam Karman.
 
As a team, the Rangers carded a 307 and are in 13th place in a competitive field of 18 schools. Oglethorpe leads the field with a 282.
 
Freshman Avery Cohen shot the team's second-best round of the day, posting a 76 to place him in a tie for 42nd. Sophomore Shiv Bhaskar is tied for 58th with a 78 while freshman Nicky Riscica rounded out the team scoring with an 83. Junior Mike Ford added an 84 in the opening round.
