Early Goal Powers Women’s Soccer at Lycoming

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Senior Rebecca Racine scored In the 10th minute and the Drew University women's soccer team earned a 1-0 Landmark Conference victory at Lycoming College on Saturday.

With the victory, the Rangers (11-5-1, 6-1-1 LC) increased their Landmark Conference point total to 19 and continue to hold second place in the conference standings with just one game left in the season.

Drew outshot Lycoming 14-4, but its second shot of the game was all it needed, as Racine cashed in a shot from the top for her fifth goal of the season and her third game-winner.

The Rangers placed three additional shots on goal later in the opening half but all three were saved by keeper Riley Block.

Drew continued to knock on the door in the second half, when it fired off seven more shots. But Block made an additional four saves to keep it a one-goal game.

Freshman Sarah Crowley made both of her saves in the second half to record her fifth shutout of the season for the Rangers.

Drew plays its regular-season finale on Saturday, when it visits Susquehanna University at 3:30 p.m.
