STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The Drew University women's track & field team competed in its second meet in program history on Friday, facing Division I, II, and III opponents at the Wagner College Shootout inside the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
 
Leading the way for the Rangers at the non-scoring meet was senior Melina Christodoulou, who cleared 5-2 1/4 in the high jump to finish sixth among 19 competitors. She was topped by only Division I jumpers from Monmouth, Binghamton, and Penn and a Division II athlete from District of Columbia.
 
Seven additional Rangers were in action, including freshman Sage Hendershot, who placed 45th in a field of 84 in the 60-meter dash, clocking an 8.32. Classmate Skyler McGuire nearly broke the top 50 percent of the field as well, taking 15th out of 27 runners in the mile with a time of 5:50.78. Additionally, sophomore Mazzy Cirinelli topped 13 competitors in the long jump, soaring 15-1 1/2 to place 27th.

The Rangers are now off until Jan. 12, when they compete at the TCNJ Indoor Invitational at the Armory.
