MADISON, N.J. – Senior forward
Howard McBurnie, Jr. scored his 1,000th career point and the Drew University men's basketball team raced to a 95-66 Landmark Conference victory over Goucher College on Senior Day in Baldwin Gym Saturday afternoon.

McBurnie reached his milestone in emphatic fashion, slamming home an alley-oop from
Andrew Turco early in the second half. He is the 21st player to score 1,000 points at Drew and the first since Nate Aldrich '19 in 2019.

Drew's six seniors –
Mathew Capozzoli,
Kyle Cassidy,
Luis De Leon Brumer,
Mario Haklaj,
Michael Kane, and McBurnie – played their final home game and were honored in a brief ceremony before the game.

With 22 points and 15 rebounds, McBurnie posted his third straight double-double and his 11th of the season. He shot 9-for-14, including 3-for-3 from beyond the arc, and handed out five assists.

Papie Roberts registered 10 points and four assists.

The Rangers posted their highest scoring output of the season and their fourth 90-point game of the year while connecting on 13 3-pointers – their most since draining 18 in a win over York (N.Y.) on Dec. 17.

The fireworks continued for Drew as McBurnie drained another triple less than a minute later before De Leon Brumer followed up with a highlight-reel jam of his own. The Rangers broke a full-court press and Haklaj found himself in the center of a 3-on-1 break. He delivered a bounce pass to De Leon Brumer on the left, and he threw it down with authority over a defender for his first career dunk.

Goucher was unable to get closer than 24 the rest of the way. Sixteen different Rangers ended up seeing playing time, with 12 finding the scoring column.

Drew plays its final two games on the road, starting with a 7 p.m. tip at Elizabethtown College on Wednesday in another Landmark Conference affair.
