HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Drew University women's tennis team opened its spring break trip to Hilton Head with an 8-1 victory over Lebanon Valley College at Van Der Meer Tennis Academy on Sunday.
 
Competing in their first dual match of the season, the Rangers opened the day by sweeping the doubles competition. Sophomore 
Mary Kalorin and freshman 
Sofiya Lebedeva earned an 8-1 victory at No. 1 before senior 
Sanne Bloemendaal and junior 
Melina Christodoulou captured an 8-5 win at No. 2. Sophomore 
Courtney Bresler and senior 
Danielle DelRosso added an 8-4 triumph at No. 3.
 
Drew went on to win five of the singles matches, including decisive victories by Lebedeva at No. 1 (6-0, 6-2), Christodoulou at No. 2 (6-1, 6-1), Kalorin at No. 3 (6-2, 6-0), and freshman 
Natalia Zamora at No. 6 (6-2, 6-0). DelRosso also prevailed in the closest match of the day, winning the opening set 6-3 before capturing the second via tiebreaker, 12-10.
 
The Rangers continue their six-day, five-match trip on Monday, when they take on Roanoke College at 5 p.m. at Cordillo Park.
