HILTON HEAD, S.C. and SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Drew University women's tennis team split a pair of matches on Wednesday on the third day of competition during the team's spring break trip.
The Rangers (3-1) opened with a 4-3 loss to Marian (Ind.) University at Hilton Head High School before heading to Savannah State University in Georgia, where they captured a 7-0 victory over their Division II opponent.
Against Marian, the Knights jumped to a 1-0 lead after capturing the doubles point. Senior

Melina Christodoulou earned the team's lone doubles win, prevailing 7-5 at No. 2.
In singles play, the Rangers earned wins at the first, second, and sixth flights. Freshman
Sofiya Lebedeva won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1 while Christodoulou won 6-1, 7-5 at No. 2.
Freshman Natalia Zamora was also victorious, rallying for an epic 4-6, 7-6 (10-6), 10-6 win at No. 6.
At Savannah State, Drew won all nine matches, starting with a doubles sweep in which they did not lose a game: sophomore
Mary Kalorin and Lebedeva at No. 1; Bloemendaal and Christodoulou at No. 2, and sophomore
Courtney Bresler and senior
Danielle DelRosso at No. 3.
In singles, Lebedeva picked up her second win of the day at No. 1, winning 6-0, 6-3. Christodoulou rallied to win 3-6, 6-3, 10-1 while Kalorin earned a victory by default. Sweeping the Nos. 4-6, respectively, were Bloemendaal (6-3, 6-3), Bresler (6-1, 6-0), and freshman
Jada Worthem (6-0, 6-0).
The Rangers close out their spring break trip on Friday, when the take on Sweet Briar College at 8:30 a.m. back in Hilton Head at Van Der Meer Tennis Academy.
