MADISON, N.J. – In an incredibly evenly-matched game, Moravian University scored the last two goals of the game to hand the Drew University men's lacrosse team a 9-8 setback in a Landmark Conference affair Saturday afternoon in Ranger Stadium.
After starting the game on a 3-0 run, the Rangers led for the entire game until the Greyhounds (5-5, 1-1 LC) scored the go-ahead goal with 6:35 left after tying the game on three occasions. Aden Moskovitz tallied the game-winner for Moravian.
Neither side led by more than three in a game in which the two side finished dead even in ground balls (29) while Moravian had a slight edge in shots on goal (27-26).

Craig Wilkie scored three goals for the Rangers (5-6, 0-2 LC) while freshman
Ian Curley and sophomore
Mike DeMayo added two goals apiece. Freshman
Matt Duarte collected 18 saves.
Vincent Devito scored two goals for Moravian while Thomas Lee stopped 18 shots.
Curley broke open a scoreless game when he finished off a feed from sophomore
Luke Bruther with 7:49 left in the opening quarter. DeMayo and Wilkie followed up just over a minute later, scoring 38 second apart. But Moravian answered with its first goal with 2:02 on the clock and the Rangers led 3-1 at end of the first quarter.
The Greyhounds scored the first two goals of the second quarter to pull even with 8:05 left in the first half. However, the Rangers would push back in front after DeMayo and Curley each struck for the second time to make it 5-3 with 2:19 showing. But the Greyhounds managed to score a pair in the final 2:19, including the equalizer with five ticks showing it was a 5-5 game at the break.
Wilkie and freshman
Jake Cornelius scored back-to-back tallies to make it a 7-5 game with 9:29 showing. But Moravian had an answer once again, netting two more goals to pull even with 6:14 left in the third quarter.
Wilkie scored what turned out to be the team's final goal with 5:28 left in the third quarter before Moravian's Aaron Judge tied it with 13:32 left in the game.
After Moskovitz' goal, the Rangers managed to place four shots on goal but Lee stopped each of them, including a potential game-tying attempt from Curley in the closing seconds.
The Rangers are back in Landmark Conference action next Saturday, when they visit Elizabethtown College at 1 p.m.
