The Drew University women's volleyball team lost a pair of matches on Saturday at William Paterson University.
The Rangers opened the day with an extremely tight 3-1 loss to Merchant Marine (27-25, 27-25, 13-25, 25-23) before dropping a 3-0 decision (25-20, 25-16, 25-22) decision to the host Pioneers.
Against Merchant Marine, sophomore
Teeya Desgoutte led the way with a tremendous performance, posting career-highs of 18 kills and 19 digs. Sophomore
Emily Shirk added 12 kills and 18 digs while classmate
Abigail Pereira notched 10 kills. Junior
Lauren Gaza contributed 32 assists, 15 digs, and five ace while classmate
Genevieve Sarinelli tallied 18 digs.
Desgoutte paced the Rangers again versus William Paterson with 10 kills and 10 digs. Gaza posted 21 assists, 14 digs, and three aces while Sarinelli had 17 digs.
The Rangers return home on Tuesday, when they host Stockton University at 7 p.m. in a non-conference affair.
