MADISON, N.J. – Junior
Elise Parisi and freshman
Riley Roesel finished 3-0 to lead the Drew University women's tennis team at the Drew Doubles Invitational on Saturday at the Drew Tennis Complex.
All nine current members of the team competed for Drew, which took on Ramapo College, Stockton University, and Centercourt Academy.
Parisi and Roesel opened with an 8-4 win over a team from Stockton and added an 8-5 victory against a tandem from Ramapo. The two finished the day with an 8-1 triumph over teammates
Michelle Lombardi and
Kapriana Payami.
Three additional doubles teams earned wins for the Rangers. Lombardi and freshman
Danielle Pettoni captured an 8-3 win while sophomores
Jada Worthem and
Natalia Zamora pulled out an 8-7 (7-3) victory, both over teams from Ramapo. Juniors
Courtney Bresler and
Mary Kalorin also won in a tiebreaker with an 8-7 (7-3) win over a squad from Ramapo.
The Rangers close out the fall portion of their season Sept. Sept. 22-24 at the ITA Division III Northeast Regionals, held at William Smith College.
