Congrats to this week's Rangers of the Week -
Elliot Parker C'26 of the men's golf team and
Lauren Gaza C'25 of the women's volleyball team!
Parker opened the season with a tremendous performance at The Gauntlet. The 2022-23 All-American fired a seven-under-par 65 on the second and final day of the tournament, rallying from six strokes back to win by a single stroke. His incredible final round included birdies on seven holes and pars on the other 11. Parker opened the tournament with a 73 and finished with a 138, slicing three strokes from his own 18-hole school record and two strokes from his 36-hole Drew standard. He helped the Rangers tie for eighth place among 14 teams with a 589 (298-291) – the second-best 36-hole score in team history.
Gaza has been extremely versatile for the Rangers this season. Following an ankle injury, she has stepped up in two major roles, including running the offense as setter and providing the backbone of the defense at libero. This past week she recorded double digits in digs in all three matches and posted a double-double against Stockton with 21 assists and 16 digs. She earned another double-double versus Skidmore with 32 assists and10 digs and also served up three aces. She concluded the week at libero and tallied four assists and 20 digs. Gaza also earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team at the Union/Russell Sage Crosstown Crossover.
The Rangers of the Week are nominated and voted upon by the Drew University athletics staff.
