MADISON, N.J. – Junior
Isabella Grof-Tisza scored the game-winning goal in the 87th minute and the Drew University women's soccer team rallied in the final 10 minutes to earn a 2-1 victory over cross-town rival FDU-Florham in a non-conference affair Wednesday evening.
The Rangers (6-4) trailed 1-0 before senior
Rebecca Racine scored off an assist from Grof-Tisza with 8:22 on the clock. Grof-Tisza then struck off her own rebound with 3:25 left following a corner kick for her first goal of the season, the second of her career, and her first game-winner.
Drew, which earned its first win at FDU since 2012, outshot the Devils 20-17 and held a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Freshman
Sarah Crowley made a season-high eight saves for the Rangers while Erica Blackburn stopped nine shots for FDU (7-3-1).
The Devils took a 1-0 lead when Mia Lopez scored in the 28th minute. FDU ended up outshooting the Rangers 12-10 in the opening period, but that's when Crowley made six of her stops.
The Rangers held a 10-5 shot advantage in the second half, when they scored on two of their last four shots.
Drew returns to Landmark Conference action on Saturday, when it hosts Elizabethtown College at 3:30 p.m.
