NEWARK, N.J. – The Drew University men's cross country team raced to an impressive performance at the NJIT Highlander XC Challenge on Saturday at Branch Brook Park.
The Rangers finished seventh among 31 teams and were second among Division III schools.
Senior
Toby Gaynor was the top finisher for the Rangers, placing 17th in a field of 245 runners. He was clocked at 26 minutes, 37 seconds for the 8,000-meter course.
Freshman
Matt Ellis was Drew's second finisher, taking 44th in 27:51. Sophomore
Thomas Edwards was close behind in 27:56 while junior
Dylan Crain took 66th in 28:33. Junior
Gaetano Allegri completed the team scoring, finishing 79th in 29:07.
Also running were freshman
Eliot Vishnevsky, who came in 126th in 30:57, and sophomore
Aidan Rosser, who took 144th in 31:58.
Drew continues its season next Saturday at the Inter-Regional Border Battle, hosted by Rowan University at Gloucester County Dream Park in Logan Township, N.J.
