MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University women's volleyball team swept both of its opponents at home tri-match on Saturday in Baldwin Gym.
The Rangers opened the day by earning their first Landmark Conference win of the season with a 25-19, 25-8, 25-17 victory over Goucher College. The Blue and Green closed the day with a 25-21, 25-18, 25-10 win over non-conference foe Marywood University.
Drew posted its top-two hitting performances of the year, posting a .264 percentage against Marywood and a .257 mark versus Goucher.
Junior
Teeya Desgoutte registered a hitting percentage of .571 – the second-best mark in team history. She also scooped 11 digs.
Sophomore
Alyssa Rachwal contributed 31 assists while senior
Genevieve Sarinelli added 16 digs.
Desgoutte came through with another stellar show, against Marywood, throwing down 12 kills while making only two errors on 25 attempts, good for .400 hitting.
Also versus Marywood, Sarinelli served up a career-high eight aces – just two shy of the school record. She also recorded 14 digs while Rachwal dished out 28 assists.
The Rangers return to Landmark Conference play on Tuesday, when they host the University of Scranton at 7 p.m.
