SCRANTON, Pa. – The University of Scranton scored twice in less than two minutes early in the game and the 16th-ranked Royals topped the Drew University women's soccer team by a 2-0 count Wednesday evening.
Scranton (13-1-2, 7-0 LC) struck in the 14th on a goal from Samantha Goffice before Niamh Healy followed up 1:52 later, setting what turned out to be the final score.
Sophomore
Sarah Crowley made eight saves for the Rangers (7-5-4, 3-2-2 LC).
Senior
Alexa Krause attempted a shot on goal in the sixth minute for Drew, but Nicole Olson made her lone save of the night.
After making four saves in the opening half, Crowley turned aside all four shots she faced in the second period.
The Rangers pick up their schedule on Saturday, when they host Landmark Conference foe Lycoming College at 1 p.m. on Senior Day.
